Re: Commodore 64x Hardware: Alien Invasions and Time Travel - What's Your Reality?

I guess this is a clever bot, but I'll bite. :?

None of the above. :D

It's what many might consider an "alternate reality" where Commodore is still around releasing products. :P
Living the dream with Commodore OS and the Commodore 64x (on sale from https://www.mini-itx.com).

Re: Commodore OS Tweaking

Not much I can do about Cairo dock's behavior in COS3 I'm afraid, other than lock it down because configuring it can kill it practically irreversably. I also found it crashes every so often, and even sometimes tries to run two instances. I actually had to code something to either resuscitate it or k...

Re: Native BASIC

Yeah, Commodore OS BASIC V1 is not Commodore BASIC.......yet. It has good bones though and I'm hoping to get there for Commodore OS BASIC V2, adding commands from Commodore BASIC V10 until they're almost on parity. Indeed I've spoken at length in another thread about how I intend to turn this into a...

Commodore OS Tweaking

Some reviews have commented that Commodore OS is perfect with a couple of modifications. This is great to hear, but it makes me wonder what is actually the issue? I imagine this has to do with removing some of the animations, in order for menus to be more responsive. What modifications have you perf...

Re: SSH BBS Client Software

Code: Select all

sudo apt install putty -y
I should have made this part of the install.

This along with a wysiwyg web editor to be included for the next COS version/upgrade.

Re: Sick of playing whack-a-mole with bots!

You may have noticed that the site has been down for a few days, with a SQL connection max error. I figured Cloudflare may be the problem and have since removed Cloudflare, and it would appear everything has finally reset and the site is fully functional once more, without the glitches I mentioned. ...

Re: Sick of playing whack-a-mole with bots!

Cloudflare really sucks!!! I checked the phpBB forums and they gave Cloudflare high marks. Whilst the bots seems to have died down it often logs you out when you post. I'm so close to removing it, it is soooo annoying. Maybe I can remove the caching entirely, but that kind of defeats the purpose. Ar...

Re: Commodore hardware ROMs

After clicking on msi file on windows machine (Win11) does it automatically create directories to install Amiga software into? Or do I do the creation of directories manually? When you can click on an RP9 file within Windows it will run Amiga Forever and the software. I don't remember if it creates...

Re: Commodore hardware ROMs

You need to copy the ROMs and disk images manually. Once AF9 is installed on Windows copy the Amiga ROMs to the appropriate place in COS ROMs folder as per the instructions. You could also copy the disk files to the appropriate Systems folder (click C= logo in the dock) As of writing COS3 doesn't su...

Re: Commodore hardware ROMs

Not only won't it work with the wrong version, it might even scramble things. You shouldn't do it.

I should probably display a warning.

I reverse engineered the msi and inferred file names by position. So it can't work on v9 unless it was packaged absolutely identically which is unlikely.
