Hello, Armisis here, former C64 Sysop from the 80's, and senior systems engineer, MBA_ITM.

Wanting to see if I can help in any way to get this OS working on the N100 based Radxa 4x board correctly, so far it will not see the wifi, and does not get correct video, I love this interface and really want this distro to do well not just on the Commodore 64x chassis but as a viable linux distribution with the added benefits of Commodore awesomeness added in.

In the past I was a beta tester for OS2/Warp, Windows Chicago, Mandrake Linux. Was a google top contributor for the nexus line of phones, google glass, google wave, google plus, and others.

All the best,

Dave aka Armisis

Dave, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am waiting on N100 hardware for testing, so I'm at the mercy of testers at this point.
You can't get an N100 for love nor money in Australia without a 3 week delay.

When you say it can't get the correct video, do you mean resolution selection?
That might have a fix through Terminal commands.
I could build a front end for it, if we can get it working.
Also, someone mentioned that the live distro, seems to have the correct high resolution. Is that right?

Otherwise a more all encompassing compatibility fix to the N100 display issue might be a complete distro upgrade from Buster to Bookworm.
This is discussed in this thread. I would really appreciate someone stepping up to test it (if the above doesn't work).

To everyone else, do not try this unless you are really, really having issues.
It lands the distro in a pretty rough state due to some software incompatibilities I believe, but those are things that can probably be fixed.

Please, bring discussion about the N100 to the appropriate thread using the link above.

Hello, Mark here AKA Mic67_AU.
So happy to come across this, I've been a fan of Retro Recipes for years now but when I saw his video on Commodore OS Vision I had to pause it and jump straight over. I've been in IT for 40 years now and I started my career in '84 in what was at the time just about the largest Commodore computers dealer in QLD Australia. I cut my teeth on all things Commodore, including a few CBM PETs and this brings back many fond memories!

Keep up the great work, and thank you. :D

Hey Mic67_AU, I am currently living in QLD. About 3 hours inland from Townsville. Are you still in QLD?

I'm from Melbourne, so I purchased all my commodores stuff from a place that was in Richmond (if I remember correctly?).

It was called Maxwell computers.

It's so cool to have joined a forum full of people that grew up with the Commodore computers :geek:

@termite
Oh, I had my A1000 serviced for something at Maxwell back in the day.
It was one of the last if not the last Amiga shop.
Wasn't it on Doncaster Rd in Balwyn?
I could be wrong. I wasn't that cognizant of directions back in the 80s. :(
