Hey Guys,
Things are proceeding with Commodore OS3 distro creation.
I was thinking of upscaling an image the other day, which is all done via AI, and thought to myself, why don't we include some AI tools in COS3?
Do any of you have any experience with free gui-enabled, and hopefully easy to use, Linux AI tools that do the following?:
They would need to be free and not require registration.
Hopefully none of these will be too fiddly to set up.
* Video and image upscaling (like Upscayl or Upscaler with native Real-ESRGAN, Real Video Enhancer)
* Deep Fake (like DeepFaceLab or Faceswap)
* Voice cloning (Real-Time-Voice-Cloning, OpenVoice, Mimic 3, TTS, VITS)
* Better more natural speech within Commodore OS. (see point above)
* AI Autotune (PyAutotune)
* De-aging and aging (?)
* Video colourisation and restoration (Deoldify)
Can you think of any other AI related tools worth having installed to the desktop (as opposed to a website)?

AI Software Ideas for COS3 Inclusion

Re: AI Software Ideas for COS3 Inclusion
When pixel graphics are upscaled they typically do weird things. Upscaling 3d would probably be nice though.I would like to see something that would upscale / improve commodore vic 20/64 and Amiga graphics
Which emulators do that currently? I know some composite to HDMI upscalers try to do this.
Interesting idea. Do such things exist?or software to animate Petscii Graphics.
Is there software or a currently existing distro that attempts these things, as it might give me some ideas?A OS that could help with people with sight impairment or blind.

Re: AI Software Ideas for COS3 Inclusion
Hi there,
I wrote an AI program for linux wich let you install 4 LLMs localy with wich you can chatt including deepseek r1. I am hoping to add narrator to it so it can actualy speak and not just display text in the output window but even as it is it is nice it can write entire books for you LOL. I wrote it in Arch linux but i can easily port it for COS sinse a talking AI would be more in its place on that. I just need to get Gambas 3 to the last version sinse Debian lags behind on Arch linux. I am not a coder by any means as it was just a fun project i worked on a while ago.
There we go COS meets Deepseek:

I got it running

Perhaps we can collaborate to make it a standard Commodore OS feature if you're open to it.
Is the latest version of Gambas really a deal breaker? I can't imagine that the difference would be that significant.
Yeah, I agree that upscaling of pixel graphics can be awful.
I tried that recently when I put a HDMI upscaler on my son's original Xbox and it looked really weird.

or make atleast a toggle button for that option. Also still want to add a nice icon for it. Give me some time and i get
you the entire thing for inclusion if you want that. I can give you a working executable for testing now offcouse just pm me
and we make it work. Info: The program will install Ollama from git automaticly. After that is finished and it takes a while
you can click on a start button for n LLM it will then download and install that local LLM for you (about5 gig each). From then
on you can freely use it for coding chatting writing books or whatever. You can also remove LLMs but you goto consult Ollama
help for that. Those are also single commands from a terminal.

Fantastic. I can't wait to play around with it. I take it there is no subscription required or anything like that.
You could use the SAY command script for the speech. It is tied (or will be tied soon) to the speech toggle in the settings.

There can never be any fees sinse it installs the AIs on your own local disk hence 5gb each. Making the program say every
word thats generated by the AI is not as simple as one might think but i will look into it. The output will required to be piped
to n external program already present in the OS. Also i need to add a toggle button for it so it can be silenced when someone
gets sick of the chatter. If you PM me your email i will send you a copy to evaluate and test.

Hallos,
Finished the program and i decided against it narrating every thing the AI produces. It is just to much BUT i added speech to every button so it IS telling you (in a cyberdine creepy kinda way) what it is doing exacly. Send a PM to the boss so he can start playing with it.
