Re: Installing Commodore OS Vision
I would also recommend you disable Secure Boot in your BIOS. Especially since you already have Windows installed. I was able to create a dual boot where I can choose Linux COS or Win-11 at startup. If I don't make a choice, it will default to opening Commodore OS Linux. in the list, you have to arrow all the way down to see the option to boot into Windows. I first loaded Commodore OS Linux then disabled secure Boot in the bios then installed Win-11 following this Youtube vide: https://youtu.be/xy76ERFjrQk?si=Bc-1X8KwnXCtnIaT
I hope this helps.... Bruce

Also, after you have installed Windows last......
to restore the grub menu you should be able to launch the Commodore OS live installer on usb you used for installation and go to the menu:
System --> Commodore OS --> Restore Boot Menu

Hi Kowalas,
I would need to know what hardware you have, assuming you are installing directly to your PC, and not VirtualBox.
I also need to know if you are referring to the live installer loading up(you booted from USB/SD card) or what occurs after installation.

Re: Installing Commodore OS Vision
"Hello, I’m trying to boot Commodore OS from a USB drive that I created using Rufus, and I’m attempting to install it on a separate 2TB SSD. Unfortunately, I’ve tried every scenario, but I always get to the point where I can see the C= wallpaper and hear the welcome sound, but I don’t see any icons or install icon.
My system specs are as follows:
AMD Ryzen 9 3950X
TUF Gaming B450M motherboard
32GB RAM
AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics card"

Hi Kowalas,
There isn't an install Icon like other live Linux distros.
Proceeding through the Commodore OS agreement prompts leads to the installation.
Failure to agree blows up your machine! Mwah! Mwah! Mwah!
Only joking....Sorta. Seriously. Do not even attempt to disagree....
It'll boot you out immediately and your computer will act weird from then on.
At least that's how it treats me.

Re: Installing Commodore OS Vision
Just attempted to install the OS today, had issues with responding to the Greeting window and was forced out. Now when I attempt to Install, I am sent right to the main desktop (which works very nicely by the way, but I would rather run from HDD vs Flash Drive)!
How can I reset data in the Flash Drive files so that I am passed into the greeting window and can attempt an Install again?
BTW, I did a recreate my Flash Drive using the same ISO copy as previous, but when I boot up using it, the Greeting screen does not appear. I go right to the main desktop!
YOU CAN Ignore this for now!! As it turned out, the Greeting and Acceptance windows appeared on a different monitor screen that I had not powered on! It appears to be working... It is "Copying new system"!

Re: Installing Commodore OS Vision
I finally got COS installed somewhat on my Intel Adler Lake N95.
Kept running into problems with the installing to /dev. I searched the forums and found this thread. Rebooting and using FAILSAFE I was able to get it installed.
My next issue is when I Installed the latest kernel. Now it won't boot. I went to advanced options and it will only boot with COS 6.5x not 6.11.4.
So I am hoping you will have some suggestions. As for the INTEL HUD graphics I read that this will probably be addressed with COS 3.0 which I am definitely willing to wait for. I truly am jazzed about this OS. I love Linux and I love COS. So happy to have the two finally meet!
Looking forward to all new updates!
Cheers!
