What are the minimum system requirements for Commodore OS Vision 3.0
if we want to install it raw metal on a laptop,

A 64-bit system with more than 2GB of RAM should suffice, although the experience might be a little sluggish.
I've run it on Core 2 Duos(2011 VIC-Pro spec) and even Atom D525 (2011 VIC-Slim spec). Any i3 and up should have no problem.
You probably need around 100GB of HD space to be safe.
I've noticed that Intel machines with Intel graphics seem to have an easier time of it.
I don't think it runs on Macs though.

Running it right now on a Dell XPS L720x
It seems a lot better after swapping out it's 2 4 giig ram sticks for 2 8 stick ones.
Chrome and Youtube running better on this than it did on Windows 7.

It runs super fast on my old Panasonic Toughbook. It's a CF-31 MK5. Specs:
Computer
Processor Intel Core i5-5300U 1 physical processor; 2 cores; 4 threads
Memory 16278MB (2359MB used)
Machine Type Notebook
Operating System Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm)
User Name Commodore (Mandrake)
Date/Time Tue 24 Jun 2025 07:31:06 PM CDT
Display
Resolution 1024x768 pixels
Display Adapter Intel HD Graphics 5500
Interestingly enough, my battery lasts almost an hour longer, which is usually the opposite on linux so... I dunno what the deal is there with power management or CPU usage perhaps. Props to COS on that one.
