New Features were added to the Commodore OS Settings manager:
* The Commodore icon in the dock now launches directly to the "Commodore" folder rather than the "System" menu.
You can switch this back in the "System" folder if you prefer it.
* The boot jingle can now be disabled.
* Speech can be turned off. (Requires a restart to work fully)
* Desktop sound effects can be turned off. (Requires a restart to work fully)
* The Commodore icon on the dock can now optionally launch a gamebase menu and/or the Filemanager.
Commodore OS is populated with 8-bit demobases(up to 2006) if you didn't know, and users can add and configure entire gamebases if they wish.
* Both the Dock and the top Menus can be reset to their original state if a user tweak goes bad.
* You can turn off the dock appearing on startup.
This could be useful if you want to use a different launcher like the Advanced MATE launcher and associated panel widgets, which can make the desktop experience more MS Windows like.
A choice of launcher might become an optional feature in future.
* You can now unlock the dock immediately for configuration.
You can then edit the dock settings by right clicking on the dock.
The dock reset feature above should prevent users from losing the default config.
(Currently does not unlock directly from restart but after an app loads)
You may not be aware that the installation music and commentary can be replayed with the command:
Code: Select all
LOAD "RADIO"
