Commodore OS Vision 2.0 Forum

Hi all, Aussie here. I love the old Commodore 64, despite not owning one in the 1980's, but I did have a Commodore PET with dual floppies.

I have I think two Commodore 64's currently, safely wrapped and put aside. Both running and with everything needed, including a tape drive. But I have so much on, I rarely get to play with them.

What I am really excited about is ComodoreOS. I have it as a virtual install on my i-9 MSI GS76, runs like a charm, with all the old games, plus the emulation side of things.

Then it hit me. Why isn't there a port of CommodroeOS for the Raspberry Pi 4/5? What a perfect candidate. I did try writing the image to a microsd, but it didn't want to boot. It needs 64Bit, the Pi4/5 are 64Bit. It's a marriage made ion heaven.

Will be around, but as I said, very busy little camper.

Welcome to the forum lordfluffypants.

I am happy to report that a pi version of Commodore OS is in development.
It will either launch with or very shortly after the x86 version which will hopefully be next month.
Then with what we've learned there's potential for rolling out Commodore OS to other Debian supported SBC platforms.

Cue everyone correcting my code.

Mate, I’m so excited. The CommodoreOS as a Linux image works exceptionally well. I use a usb-c button 64Gb. Fast to load, all contained and retained. Still learning all the possibilities.

But on a Pi, well that is a whole new level. Gotta buy you a coffee
