Hi,

I am hoping someone can help.

I plan on using a virtual box within Win11 and loading the C64 OS3.0 (when available) into it. My Win11 has issues with recognizing my Epson printer and am hoping that I can access printer with the OS3.0 software when it is available?? My older Win10 laptop has no issues with printer.

Is that possible? My new laptop was bought late last year. Asus Vivobook Go

The thing is, does Linux itself recognise your Epson printer in general?
Should you want to find out before COS3.0 releases you may want to install MXLinux and check as COS is based on that.
You might want to do google your printer model for linux compatibility.

My understanding is that Virtual Box typically only has access to functionality exposed by the underlying OS, which in your case would be Windoze 11.
Therefore I am doubtful your printer will suddenly spring to life.

You might want to try to access your printer from the live USB(prior to installation), which would be running natively on your computer from the USB.
I imagine the printer drivers would have been loaded, and you can try to access the printer then.

When you create the image from Rufus I think if you set the "Persistent Partition Size" to max it will keep any changes you make to the live USB.
There isn't much difference between that and the installed version except file speeds and you could even use the live usb as your daily driver.
At least that is my understanding.
