Re: Commodore OS Tweaking

I have to admit one of the first tweaks I did was disable Cairo dock. I used it a long time ago when AWN started to go away and before I found things like Plank or other docs. I could never quite get it to behave and work right, like some of the others here, and decided it wasn't worth my time. So I...

Re: Saving Commodore Q&A with Perifractic.

I love this Q&A. Somehow I totally missed the original video and need to go back and watch it. But owning a stake in Commodore's resurrection, whatever that may look like, is tantalizing. It's so cool seeing the homebrew community flourish around a retro brand, really a feeling, and rally togeth...

First week with COS 3.0

So I've been enjoying COS 3.0 for a week. Here's what I've done with it. First, I installed this on my daily driver Dell Latitude E6510. Everything works great -- sound, wifi, suspend, Nvidia graphics, and the docking station. I had to clean up some of the free Linux games unfortunately to make room...

Re: no sound from COS 3

Hey technotron, what output device do you have in your sound preferences? When I right-click on the speaker on the top panel I have a choice to open the preferences dialog. In there I can see all my sound hardware devices and pick where my sound output goes.

Re: New user accounts

Thank you for the tips! I'm pretty comfortable with Linux and the command line in general. I figured if my user is in the same groups as the Commoodore user, and the sudoers file acts on group permissions, then I'd be all set. But copying in the demos makes sense, I wouldn't want to miss out on thos...

New user accounts

Greetings! Let me start by saying that Leo's done an incredible job. The effects, the music, the TTS, and the system config menu in CoolRetroTerm -- they're all amazing. This desktop is hugely fun to use and I look forward to exploring it more. One thing I can't figure out how to do is make a user a...

Re: seed commodore os vision 3.0

My download just finished. I am seeding at no limit on a gigabit upload. Hopefully that helps. Writing the image to a USB now so I can try this release out!

Re: Any Word On Release Date Of Commodore OS 3.0? And Other Questions.

Sorry to report that I have encountered a technical issue and that the release of Commodore OS 3.0 has been delayed a week. Sorry to hear about your data loss woes. Nobody likes an "exciting" release but we've all been there :) Pulling the torrent now and seeding with no limit! Just give ...

Re: Any Word On Release Date Of Commodore OS 3.0? And Other Questions.

Leo, I think BASIC is the primo lingua franca for Commodore OS. The first programming I ever did was TI-BASIC on my TI-84. I didn't like math class so I spent much of my time making games and figuring out loops, logic, variables, input, etc. I had a lot of fun drawing mazes. In college I really enjo...
