My 50th Birthday Cake

Post by LeoNigro »

I've been meaning to post this for a while.
So, when you need a 50th Birthday cake, what shape do you think I'd go for?
(No it's not my birthday today)

Haha, that's positively awesome!

Was that made by a cake shop? Custom made?

It was custom made, but the woman making it didn't follow instructions.....or the pictures I gave her......like at all.
But you get what you pay for.
I went to one novelty cake shop that wanted as much to do it as a fully loaded C64x, but she would have made it 100%

Looks great, my mum made me one when I got my Vic20 when I was fourteen.

I still have a photo somewhere, I will dig it out.

Mum and dad spent hours setting it up and trying to type Happy Birthday Ian on the screen for when I came home from school.

There were al sorts of Syntax errors on the screen ;-)

I quickly wrote a print and loop program and whizzed it up the screen and they realised I actually knew some stuff.

Many thanks to Mr. Todd who opened up school at 7:30am so I could get an hour or so on the PET and the NorthStar before school.

The Vic20 served me well and set me up for my career, what a present.
