Hi folks,
I wondered if anyone has a solution for my wifi issue: I installed the Synocon Wifi Module (M2 Key E on the Asrock J5040 Mainboard) and can't get it up and running in COS. All other OSes (Mint, Win11) work fine with that card.
Funfact: In COS the bluetooth part of the card works.
inxi gives the hint that the driver is missing. modprobe iwlwifi doesn't give any output. Since I have little experience with debian any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Ixel

Re: Wifi-issue with Intel AX210
Hi folks,
again an update from myself for the files:
I installed COS again, because I cleaned up the installations on the hard drive (I just say "Windows" in that context...) and look what happened:
Not only the Bluetooth-part is working, the Wifi works.
This is due to the fact that I installed the Wifi-card after installing COS the first time.
Problem solved.
Greetings,
Ixel

Re: Wifi-issue with Intel AX210 (not(!) solved)
The joy was short-lived. After the OS update, WIFI is not working again.
Anyone else have any ideas?

Re: Wifi-issue with Intel AX210 (not(!) solved)
Thanks for your reply Leo,
no, that was a Windows related solution.
Here is what I found out:
The card works right out of the box - with a 6.5 kernel. After updating the kernel to 6.12 it doesn't work anymore. So it has something to do with the newer kernel. Refining my search, I decided to look at the dmesg output for iwlwifi. Et voila: There was the hint what version of the iwlwifi firmware was expected. Something between 77 and 89. These files were obviously missing from /lib/firmware. I downloaded the latest version of the Linux firmware from kernel.org and extracted the missing files.
Now it works - with version 89.
Maybe someone will find this helpful
Thanks again for your work with that distro. And thanks for your time and help in this forum.

Hello Elmar,
I have the same problem after this update. and you only copied the drivers into the directory?
can you describe that in more detail?
is copying into the directory enough?
thanks
regards
Tom
