Hello,
I'm had an issue after a windows update that caused the grub boot for COS to go into recovery mode.
Managed to boot back to Commodore OS but its stuck at the log in screen and I can't get past this.
Any help would be greatfull

Not near a computer at the moment.
If you boot up the live image via usb there is an option in the System --> Commodore OS menu that might help that resets the grub bootloader on the hd. I'm not sure it will work in your case but it is worth a try.

Re: Stuck on Log In Screen after grub rescue
Hi,
Thank you for your advice. I have made a live image usb stick and I'm able to boot into that now but not sure how to fix the grub bootloader.
I believe if I can get into the OS past the login screen - I should be able to fix the grub bootloader from there somehow.
Need a way of bypassing the login screen or accessing the Console maybe. Or as you say repair it from the USB, but not sure how to do this?
Any further advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Stuck on Log In Screen after grub rescue
Please try the following when booting and running the Live USB image.
In the Commodore OS 2 top menu:
System --> Commodore OS --> Restore Boot Menu
It may be contingent on COS and grub is installed on your first hard disk before Windows.
It'll be initiated from the upcoming settings app in Commodore OS 3.
If it doesn't work the script is probably pretty close, and it just has a slight detail wrong.
Let me know as it should be pretty straight forward to work out where it went wrong if it doesn't work.
It worked like a charm in COS1.

Re: Stuck on Log In Screen after grub rescue
Thank you, I have tried your suggestions and still had no success.
Really appreciate your help. I have decided to format and start again and this has resolved the issue.
I blame Microsoft for this 24h2 update killed COS2 in my eyes.
