Okay so i guess i´ll do a little (maybe not so little heh ) intro then.
I am Rob from Holland but i live in Spain.
Started my pc live with an older VIC20 that i bought from a friend for around 50 florins back then . (bargain )
It didn´t have a tapedrive so i had to type in all the code from a book i had to play a game on it .
Turned it off and poof gone. LOL
After that i got hooked and after a lot of bagging my parrents bought me my first C64 (breadbin)
After years of using it i sold it to buy a RC car lol.
Actually missed the darn thing and bought a new one (v2)
Then i went to Amiga 500. This was my last Commodore when i was young. After that PC took over. Commodore stuff was way to expensive for me back then)
I still have my old 500 and i souped it up with a harddrive and some more ram. Kickstart selector and parralel sd card reader.
Also have 2 1200´s .
Got myself the C64 mini and a Maxi also got myself the VIc20 version maxi.
A500 mini, and yes a TheSpectrum.
I try to repair C64´s and VIC´s for fun.
I am trying out this new Commodore vision os and i love it. Works extremely fast on my laptop . (Not live usb but installed)
I´ll have some questions as i know some stuff from linux but some things do not seem to work so i hope i can find help here.
Cya on the Board .
Rob

Re: Hi guys.
Welcome Robsth,
Your story sounds quite close to mine.
I remember when I wrote some code on a friend's VIC-20 for the first time, probably around the age of 8 or 9, I thought you had to record the keystrokes, so I pressed play and record on the tape deck as I typed.
I didn't sell my C64 for an RC Car though.....I mean....how could you?
I went to a used A1000 with an IBM XT sidecar(later upgraded to AT) rather than an A500, which let me do programming assignments for a year or so of uni. But ultimately I had to bite the bullet and switch to the dark side with a used 386SX to complete my Comp Sci degree then I moved to a Pentium which at the time seemed to blow everything else away. And then I'm stuck on PCs, wishing I'd have bought an A1200 back then so I would have one now.
I've got a piStorm on the A1000 right now and I bought an C128D, bot of which I've barely had time to use.
I'd have probably bought a couple of Maxis had I not actually (co)created the C64x.
The Spectrum looks interesting..... I wonder if there is an emulator for that too.
I've must admit, I've not actually run a Spectrum emulator for more than a few minutes.
I should get around to hooking spectrum files up to the universal ROM launcher on COS.
If you find things that don't work, let us know, and hopefully I can fix it for everyone in an update.
There are some problems with VICE configuration I know I've got to work out.
I've also got an update for Beta 6 early adopters to deploy soonish.
Cheers,
Leo
