/usr/local/share/games/mame/roms
And of course /usr/local/share/games/mame has folders for artwork etc.

As that is a restricted area you will need to open a filemanager as an admin.
(Right click in an area or see the File menu of the FileManager to "Open As Administrator")

Once you have copied the files(Drag and Drop) to the location above, you will need to alter permissions to the folder and files.
Use could use the following command

Code: Select all

sudo chmod 777 /usr/local/share/games/mame -R
I might change the permissions on the mame folder automatically in the next update to facilitate this. (Edit: Released in build 43)

Let us know how you go.

Now I'm onto Super Nintendo. Where do I put those ROMS? Same spot I assume but what folder name? Also, which emulator for Super Nintendo?

Try the Multi-System Emulator (Mednaffe) for SNES emulation. (I couldn't get the sound working, but maybe you'll have better luck)
It's the second entry under Emulators.

I would recommend you pop your SNES games in the /usr/share/commodoreos/systems/Nintendo folder. Maybe make a "SNES" folder inside it.

Then, within the emulator, you can navigate from your home folder which has a link called "ClassicSoftware".
(It used to be "Classic Software", but some emulators didn't like it).

Don't forget you can solidify any window with (ALT + MouseScrollWheel).
You can zoom with (Super + MouseScrollWheel) too.
