Hi,
first of all, since I haven't said it yet, congratulations on the great work done with COS3, as for the language setting, I had already followed the steps you indicated, but they didn't bring the system into my language.

Hi,
I tried to check from the terminal with the "locale" command, and the Italian language is not installed, always English, from the procedure indicated above, instead, it confirms that the change to Italian has been performed.
Going around the various menus a bit, I ended up in "MATE ures manager" and here, giving it the Italian language, it worked, upon reboot I had the entire operating system in Italian.
Thanks again for the great work done, and I can't wait to see the next updates.
P.S.: just a quick question, since the keyboard is a bit particular, commodore key, function keys together with the "number" keys, and other particular characteristics of the Commodore keyboard, what is the most correct keyboard to set?

Ah... the Mate user manager. Aka mate-user-admin.
Thanks for that. Glad you got it working.

We had a python app that set this in COS2 and when I moved it to COS3 it crashed the system(like surpringly badly) and I forgot to get a replacement. Rather than writing a new one I'll just send the user directly to the mate-user-admin to change it.
FIXTODODONE Next update. Build 42.

For the C64x I would stick to the keyboard detected.

OK,
now it seems to work "almost everything", there is only one problem with the WI FI BrosTrend AX1800 card, the manufacturer does not provide drivers for linux, so I find myself in the situation that the card works halfway, the Bluethoot part works, while the wifi does not; what can I do?
For now I navigate with a TP-Link USB, but I would like to solve the problem if possible with the one installed on the motherboard in the appropriate slot.
Thanks in advance.
Greetings

I have a really horrible feeling it might(I repeat might) work with a kernel update.
Please note that people reported kernel updates in COS2 were corrupting the OS.
I just tried it in COS3, and it felt like it did on first boot, then on the next reboot it loaded fine.
So I really don't know what to tell you. I'm not even sure it actually did anything.
Try it only if you have nothing to lose.
It is in the Settings Manager under General Settings. (I came really close to removing the functionality just now.)

Sounds good to me Leo. You've more than earned my support. I'm actually hopeful to phase out my Windows laptops and Mac Mini. :D

Thanks Leo for working to getting COS3 out. Been using COS2 since I got my C64x a while back and loving that. While I was surprised by the large 37GB distro for COS3 as I am installing it as I type I cannot wait to see what it has in store. Reading your earlier reply, your passion for Commodore really shines and sharing the concept vision behind COS3. Totaly agree we do not need another boring distro and while I am more an Amiga fan from 1987, who had a C64 since 1984, I get it.

I did search the forum posts but couldn't find anyone sharing this but The Register did a piece on COS3
