Word War vi unplayable for me on bare metal

To be fair, I have this same issue on another linux distro on virtualbox... it's to do with the mouse. You just keep flying to the upper-left, beyond the boundary and die, over and over. I unplugged my mouse on bare metal before starting the game, worked fine. Vmware with the commodore distro, worked fine. Virtualbox under the latest debian live distro... same issue. There are zero options in the game to do with controls or anything else for that matter. It must be working for some people though, otherwise it wouldn't have been included. Too bad they don't have a windows version.
