No Commodore OS anymore! :-(

Post by Thommy2k24 »

Today i installed my new old used asus 1070gtx stix rog 8gb graphicscard... and now Commodore OS show only a black screen.
I tried also a new fresh install via virtualbox.... but nothing. only the Commodore OS loading screen and then black.... anyway to get a failsafe to try to install the nvidia drivers? Tried all 3 boot option from grub same result...

now i must use win10 again.... its annoying....

For any help answers i thank you...

If the underlying OS works then Virtual Box should have worked at least.
I've never encountered an issue.
I imagine you selected the ISO for the optical drive via the storage tab for the instance's settings.
Be sure to follow the instructions.

If you backtrack steps what did you do prior to the issue? Updates?

I integrated the Commodore OS iso into Virtualbox as normal and then started it. and then installed it again on the external hard drive because I thought the driver from the old graphics card would interfere and therefore no picture. But even the new installation doesn't produce a picture, everything works perfectly with the virtualbox. You see the loading screen of Commodore OS and then a black screen when the desktop should appear. And what's also funny is that when the hard drive was installed as SATA, Commodore OS didn't show me it as a hard drive to install. Not even with a new sata to usb adapter, it only worked with the pretty old sata to usb adapter... well then no Commdore OS for now, although I had set it up well by now. I hope that a new version will come out soon with all the problems that we had, which will hopefully no longer be the case.
I would like to use it again...
Have a nice evening.
Greetings
Thomas
