I would need to know what hardware you have, assuming you are installing directly to your PC, and not VirtualBox.

I also need to know if you are referring to the live installer loading up(you booted from USB/SD card) or what occurs after installation.

You said you updated the system, but did you upgrade the system?
Menu Option:
System --> Commodore OS --> Install Latest Linux Kernel

Forgive me if I am stating the obvious.

Have you tried?
Menu option:
System --> Preferences --> Look and Feel --> Additional Tools

Then select
Nvidia driver installer
