Re: Not a software issue - but games claiming to need real hardware run fine?
Actually, it was flagged because VirtualBox would not handle its mouse input correctly. It was too sensitive and unplayable as were some of the first person shooters. I'm glad you've had success though with vmware. It may turn out that my flagging does not apply for it. Once I upgrade my main drive ...

Re: OS Vision 3
Hi extractmails, :D I'm currently running Commodore OS Vision (based on Linux Mint) Commodore OS Vision 1 was based on Linux Mint but 2 and 3 are based on MXLinux. :geek: And just for the record, contrary to some reports out there ;) , I actually created version 1 and not just 2 and 3. :ugeek: Perha...

Re: Shutting down or restarting hangs system
Sorry you're having issues. Which game was it that caused your monitor to freak out? We can find and delete the config, and then the game will probably reset and launch in windowed mode where you can set the resolution. Also note that there are many games that fail because it is required that they r...

Re: Is the Commodore OS the Future of Retro Computing or Just a Nostalgic Dream?
@caved I reacted to a post with your name on it that wasn't actualy yours? The initial post on this thread is not mine though. It is an AI bot. I certainly am not critiquing you for responding, more bemused at the power of AI. There have been a spate of posts like this on the forum of late that's al...

The playing of random songs is a novel idea.
Easy enough to implement some time after next update.
If you want to hear the installation music the command is:
Also you can go through the start jingles with:
but of course they time out.

Hi caved. Thanks for your great rebuttal. However, had I got here sooner I would have deleted the initial post. It's amazing how clever the AI bots have become. Can you imagine how provocative this could be in public political discourse? People arguing with AI bots is probably the norm now. I've alr...

Re: Commodore OS Suggestions.
#caved Worker....Absolutely yes!!! I've been looking for something like that. I had, I think DirOpus or a clone of it on my Amiga 1000 in the 80s. The closest I could find on linux was Midnight Commander which is text based. If you go to a terminal and type "mc" you will see it is like a s...

Fantastic. I can't wait to play around with it. I take it there is no subscription required or anything like that.
You could use the SAY command script for the speech. It is tied (or will be tied soon) to the speech toggle in the settings.
