Re: Nvidia driver issues
Hey guys. Anyone tried the following? (Again MX-Linux to the rescue.) nvidia-detect-mx If you get a message that claims your card is from the 340 legacy drivers series sudo apt install --install-recommends nvidia-legacy-340xx-driver I assume if it says a different series you just change the number i...

Re: Installing Commodore OS Vision
I guess I can only say it depends. There may be complications, especially if the destination hardware configuration differs significantly from the installed configuration. Linux is pretty good at hardware detection all things considered. You never know until you try it unfortunately. If you can at l...

Re: Nvidia driver issues
The next version is in the works. No showstoppers so far, but I can't give an ETA just yet. I might have to drop some new features I was working on because delivering sooner for compatibility takes precedence. I can always get the rest in on an update later. In fact it might be better that way as yo...

Linux Gaming
I've just created a forum called "Modern Gaming On Commodore OS" which I hope will provide a space to discuss gaming successes or issues. Whilst I'm here, I also want to point out some things that may warrant further exploration. A curated list of arguably the best Linux games that play we...

Re: Has anybody come up with a screen solution?
I did have a serious think(like for a day) about about gutting my broken tube Commodore 1701 monitor and replacing the innards with an industrial 4:3 LCD. I can't seem to find a replacement tube anywhere. Alibaba sells a bunch. But I don't have the time, and maybe not the prowess to do it properly e...

Re: Return to greatness
I don't know if it would be a significant upgrade from the Atom processor in the VIC-Slim. Being mini-ITX it could conceivably fit in a C64x. The thing is, for the same cost you could get a kitted out N100 intel board which is likely more powerful, that will be able to run Windows and COS. Commodore...

Re: Return to greatness
Welcome back Zippy. There may be a Raspberry Pi version in future. Commodore OS's raison d'être is as the default OS install for the C64x or Commodore licensed machines. Assuming a port was possible and it performed well enough I'd love for there to be a cheaper pi option for the C64x. Sean had one ...
